Overview
The course is for anyone who is a complete beginner to dressmaking in Eastern and Western fashion. You will be taught basic sewing skills and pattern drafting. You will build confidence in the use of equipment in the class and learn various processes within the dressmaking area.

What You'll Learn
You will increase in confidence in basic sewing skills, e.g. becoming familiar with the sewing machine, different seam allowances and different hem stitching.
You will cover all health as safety aspects of the course. The course is very much learner led. For a complete beginner in dressmaking it is recommended that the various sewing processes are learnt whilst building confidence in using the equipment.

How Will I Be Assessed?
You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.
