Relax and unwind in our contemporary salon, where you’ll be treated by our talented student hairdressers, barbers, beauty therapists and nail technicians. All treatments are carried out using professional products and are supervised by experienced tutors – ensuring top-quality service in a calm, sophisticated setting.

We’re proud to be approved by both Wella and the British Barbering Association (BBA). Our commitment to exceptional training standards has also earned us the prestigious Wella Professionals Centre of Excellence Award.

Food Outlets & Campus Shop

91´«Ã½â€™s Deane Road Campus offers a range of convenient food and retail options to support your college experience. The Atom is the College’s on-site shop, where you can pick up stationery essentials alongside snacks, sweets, drinks, gifts, jewellery and greeting cards.

Diversity is the main food court on campus, seating up to 195 people and serving breakfast, hot and cold homemade meals, snacks, and a well-stocked salad bar – with vending machines available outside of service hours. Infusion is our stylish, high street-style coffee shop on the first floor, offering Costa coffee, sandwiches, toasties, paninis, pastries, cakes, and homemade soups. Foundation, based in the Construction B Block, primarily caters to Construction and Arts learners, serving hearty homemade favourites, snacks and drinks, with seating for up to 80 people. 91´«Ã½â€™s Early Years and Preschool Centre, located at the Deane Road Campus, offers high-quality childcare and early education for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Open since 2010, the purpose-built nursery provides a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to play, learn and thrive.

Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (September 2022), the Centre was praised for its strong leadership, effective safeguarding, and the quality of care and education provided. Children make good progress, supported by experienced staff who nurture their development and help build confidence, communication and curiosity.

Construction, STEM, Engineering & Digital Facilities

91´«Ã½â€™s specialist facilities reflect real industry standards, helping students gain hands-on experience in technical and creative fields. The STEM Centre, opened in 2014, focuses on automotive engineeringÌýand supports education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. It provides clear pathways into sectors such as aerospace, environmental technologies, and the nuclear industry.

The Construction and Art BlockÌýoffers high-quality workshop spaces for brickwork, roofing, carpentry & joinery, plumbing, plastering, painting & decorating and electrical installation, with tools and equipment tailored to each level of study. The block also houses our newly renovated Art & Design and Textile facilities, featuring modern studios and specialist resources for Art & Design learners.

Opening in January 2025, the Engineering & Digital Centre is a £5 million investment in the future of technical education. The centre will offer advanced facilities for computing, robotics and engineering – preparing students for careers in Greater Manchester’s growing digital and manufacturing sectors.

Sports Hall & Fitness Suite

91´«Ã½ is home to a full-sized, modern Sports HallÌýequipped with Grade 2 Sport England flooring, four badminton courts, and four-lane indoor cricket nets. The space supports a wide range of indoor sports, including basketball, table tennis, football, netball, volleyball, and more. A central divider curtain allows for multiple activities to take place at the same time.

The College also offers a fully equipped fitness suite, recently upgraded with new equipment from Matrix Fitness (UK) –Ìýincluding the Matrix S-Drive, Matrix Connexus, Matrix S-Power, and Assault Bike. The suite is used regularly as a teaching space for Sport and Public Services learners and is also available for wider use by the College community, Staff and Students.

Library & Learning Resource Centres (LRCs)

91´«Ã½ has two Learning Resource CentresÌýlocated at our Deane Road Campus. We provide a welcoming, accessible and supportive environment designed to meet a wide range of learning needs.

Our services include:

91´«Ã½ is home to a professionally equipped theatre, featuring retractable tiered seating for up to 100 people.

The space includes advanced sound and lighting systems, with digital desks, 48 lighting channels, and over 50 lighting fixtures – such as Fresnels, Parcans, Spotlights, Floods, and four moving heads – all controlled via a Zero88 Orb lighting desk.

The theatre provides a high-quality performance environment and is ideal for productions, showcases, and creative learning experiences.

Esports, Green Room & Recording Facilities

91´«Ã½ is proud to offer a cutting-edge Esports facility, designed to support one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. The dedicated space features high-spec gaming PCs, industry-standard peripherals, ergonomic seating, and custom lighting – creating an immersive environment for competitive gaming, team-based strategy, and digital collaboration. The facility is used by our Esports learners for training, tournaments and live broadcasts, helping them develop skills in event management, content creation and podcasting etc.

To support our Creative Media students we have a Green Room, equipped with professional lighting and a green screen backdrop – deal for creating a range of digital content, from promotional videos and livestream overlays to stop motion animations.

We also offer recording facilities built to industry standards with access to high-quality microphones, mixing equipment and editing software, where learners can produce voiceovers, podcasts, and soundtracks – developing audio production skills in a professional environment.

Anatomage Suite & The Pulse Ward

91´«Ã½ is proud to offer advanced facilities that enhance learning for students on health and science-related programmes.

Our Anatomage SuiteÌýis a state-of-the-art, life-sized virtual dissection table that allows learners to explore human anatomy in incredible detail. This interactive, touchscreen tool provides access to 3D scans of real human cadavers, enabling students to examine bones, muscles, organs and systems with precision. It transforms the way anatomy and physiology are taught—offering a hands-on, safe and highly visual alternative to traditional dissection. The table is used across a range of courses, helping students build strong foundational knowledge for careers in healthcare, science and medicine.

Located within our Health & Social Care department, the Pulse WardÌýis a high-spec clinical training space that replicates a real hospital ward. Equipped with hospital beds, medical mannequins, clinical instruments and simulated patient monitoring, the Pulse Ward provides students with realistic, scenario-based learning. It supports the development of essential skills in areas such as patient care, infection control, manual handling and clinical communication—preparing students for placements and future roles in healthcare settings.

Whether experiencing a simulated hospital ward, a bustling street scene, or an early years classroom, the Immersion Room helps bring subject matter to life. It supports a range of curriculum areas, enabling learners to build real-world awareness, communication skills and confidence in a safe, controlled environment.

By stimulating multiple senses and placing students at the centre of realistic scenarios, the Immersion Room encourages active learning, reflection and discussion – making it an invaluable resource for both practical training and classroom enrichment.

If you’d like to become an apprentice, you can visit our Job Shop to meet with an Employer Engagement Advisor and receive tailored support and advice on how to apply for vacancies.

Alternatively, you can view our Apprenticeship online to discover the range of Apprenticeships we offer, from Business to Teaching.

Stakeholders that provide job seeking support and careers advice and guidance can book a regular space in the Job Shop to meet with visitors. These visitors will then be able to enquire about the career and job-seeking activities these stakeholders offer.

Anyone can visit the Job Shop if they need help with updating their CV; careers advice and guidance; or tailored support in identifying industries they wish to work in.

Visitors will also receive guidance on relevant courses to apply for, assisting them with their employability and closing any skills gaps in their CV.Ìý

If you are an adult looking for work in Bolton and the surrounding areas, we have courses that can help you to create a CV and also show you how to complete application forms to ensure the best possible chance of securing an interview. If you are a student wishing to apply for an Enrolment & Attendance Certificate to help with your claim for a Council Tax discount or, you are a parent/carer needing a Certificate to help with your claim for Child or Housing Benefit please complete the form below.

All Certificates will be emailed directly to the relevant Council department. You must provide us with the correct email address for the Council department asking for the information. If you are a learner aged over 18, we may need to contact your Tutor regarding the number of hours you study.

Please note: the details on the form below must match the information we have on your learner (or child’s learner) record. If it does not, we may be unable to produce a Certificate. However, we will contact you if this happens. We cannot produce Certificates until you/your child has been attending classes for at least 4 consecutive weeks.

‘Where employers meet talent’

91´«Ã½ Job Shop is a resource for employers to share vacancies they are currently recruiting for. Vacancies are displayed on the College’s vacancies pages as well as on the interactive screens located in the heart of our Job Shop, access by our students and members of the public.

Applicants interested in any of the vacancies will be able to apply using the Job Shop’s computers. Vacancies will also be shared with 91´«Ã½’s talent pool – students who have already expressed an interest in a vacancy and are seeking work.

Employers can also liaise with the Job Shop’s Employer Engagement Advisors to identify gaps in their recruitment and/or workforce. Working together, learning opportunities will be identified from the College’s course offer, thereby addressing and helping to close any skills gaps.
