What You'll Learn
You will learn some basic skills in hairdressing techniques including use of electrical equipment, pin curling and plaiting the hair.
How Will I Be Assessed?
You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.

You can progress onto a variety of short hairdressing courses including Hair styling for Occasions - Develop new skills and then onto a Hairdressing Award - Colouring & Styling for Women Level 1. This course will also help prepare you for the world of work in a salon environment.

Anything Else I Need to Know?
This course is part-time for 19+ learners, who must attend 3 hours per week for the number of weeks mentioned.
You are required to wear black trousers, black top and flat black shoes.
We will provide all tools and equipment for the duration of the course.
You will be required to carry out treatments on your peers.
You will be expected to have a minimum of 95% attendance and all absences must be explained to your tutor.
A ring binder folder to keep your work organised is essential.
