Overview
The aim of this course is to give parents and carers with English as a second language, an opportunity to gain confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing English in everyday situations. This will enable them to support their children with learning at home.

What You'll Learn
• Read and understand words on forms related to personal information (Example: address, first name, date of birth)
• Accurately complete personal details on a simple form
• Write the date in numbers with day/month/year format
• Give and obtain personal information
• Form questions of the wh– or yes/no type
• Ask and answer questions about personal information
• Construct sentences about yourself, using basic word order and verb form (Example: Subject-verb-object I have two children)

How Will I Be Assessed?
You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder of work which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress through your Individual Learning Plan.
