What You'll Learn
How to prepare surface backgrounds to receive Paint, Plaster and Tiles and how to apply each one in relation to DIY in the home place. Health and Safety elements will be covered in relation to each task and a basic introduction to using power tools safely.
How Will I Be Assessed?
Learners will be assessed practically on task and will demonstrate the skill and ability to prepare backgrounds and apply Paint, Plaster and Tiles.
Learners will also learn how to put up basic shelving and will demonstrate by completing a task after training is given.

Future Opportunities
Progression to a more advanced property maintenance course running in April at Deane Road construction campus followed by adult eve course in September that is certificated and covers higher level construction skills in all trades inc Bricklaying, Plastering, Painting & Decorating and Joinery.

Basic knowledge of DIY would be an advantage but all training will be given.
