How Will I Be Assessed?
You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress in your Individual Learning Plan.
Entry Requirements
To join the course you MUST be 19 or over. You MUST be a beginner and you will need to be an independent learner. Your English language must be at good Entry 2 level or above. You must have basic IT skills e.g. use mouse, keyboard and navigate the web. The tutor may move you onto a more suitable course.
• No previous experience or qualification is required, but an interest in cooking or how to improve your diet to eat healthier.
• Have a basic knowledge regarding using knives and appliances.

You can progress on to other Cooking or Baking courses at one of our local Adult Learning Centres. We have a wide range of healthy cooking and baking course if you want to try something completely different. Your tutor will give you advice and guidance on other courses within the college and can signpost you for more advice and training.
If you are interested in further developing skills and would look to develop your skills for employment, more advanced courses could be available.

• A relevant container to take your completed dish home ( tutor will advise you which container maybe suitable, sometimes need 2)
