Whether you're a home cook looking to impress guests or a food enthusiast eager to explore traditional and modern festive dishes, this course offers a delicious journey through the world of Christmas and seasonal celebrations.
We鈥檙e currently finalising next year鈥檚 timetable, but you can register your interest now to receive priority access to this course before enrolment officially opens. We will let you know once the priority access window opens.
This course is free for all learners
Courses fees are subject to change.
You will:
鈥� Develop your kitchen techniques and skills in relation to Christmas and Festival Food producing classic recipes from around the world
鈥� Demonstrate health and safety
鈥� Find out how to budget and source ingredients from local suppliers
鈥� Tips for planning and preparing a holiday feast
鈥� Make-ahead dishes and time-saving strategies
You will agree an individual learning plan (ILP) with your tutor identifying what you want and need to gain from the course. You will build up a folder which shows the range of skills and knowledge you have developed. You will receive supportive feedback throughout the course and track your progress in your Individual Learning Plan.
To join the course you MUST be 19 or over. You MUST be a beginner and you will need to be an independent learner. Your English language must be at good Entry 2 level or above. You must have basic IT skills e.g. use mouse, keyboard and navigate the web. The tutor may move you onto a more suitable course.
鈥� No previous experience or qualification is required, but an interest in cooking or how to improve your diet to eat healthier.
鈥� Have a basic knowledge regarding using knives and appliances.

You can progress on to other Cooking or Baking courses at one of our local Adult Learning Centres. We have a wide range of healthy cooking and baking course if you want to try something completely different. Your tutor will give you advice and guidance on other courses within the college and can signpost you for more advice and training.
If you are interested in further developing skills and would look to develop your skills for employment, more advanced courses could be available.

If you’d like to become an apprentice, you can visit our Job Shop to meet with an Employer Engagement Advisor and receive tailored support and advice on how to apply for vacancies.

91传媒 is proud to work with a variety of businesses and organisations throughout Bolton and the North West, and we welcome these stakeholders to share our Job Shop space.

Stakeholders that provide job seeking support and careers advice and guidance can book a regular space in the Job Shop to meet with visitors. These visitors will then be able to enquire about the career and job-seeking activities these stakeholders offer.

鈥榊our path to employment鈥�

91传媒 Job Shop isn鈥檛 just for 91传媒鈥檚 students 鈥� it鈥檚 for members of the public too!

Anyone can visit the Job Shop if they need help with updating their CV; careers advice and guidance; or tailored support in identifying industries they wish to work in.

Visitors will also receive guidance on relevant courses to apply for, assisting them with their employability and closing any skills gaps in their CV.听

If you are an adult looking for work in Bolton and the surrounding areas, we have courses that can help you to create a CV and also show you how to complete application forms to ensure the best possible chance of securing an interview. Enrolment & Attendance Certificate

If you are a student wishing to apply for an Enrolment & Attendance Certificate to help with your claim for a Council Tax discount or, you are a parent/carer needing a Certificate to help with your claim for Child or Housing Benefit please complete the form below.

All Certificates will be emailed directly to the relevant Council department. You must provide us with the correct email address for the Council department asking for the information. If you are a learner aged over 18, we may need to contact your Tutor regarding the number of hours you study.

Please note: the details on the form below must match the information we have on your learner (or child鈥檚 learner) record. If it does not, we may be unable to produce a Certificate. However, we will contact you if this happens. We cannot produce Certificates until you/your child has been attending classes for at least 4 consecutive weeks.

91传媒 Job Shop is a resource for employers to share vacancies they are currently recruiting for. Vacancies are displayed on the College’s vacancies pages as well as on the interactive screens located in the heart of our Job Shop, access by our students and members of the public.

Applicants interested in any of the vacancies will be able to apply using the Job Shop’s computers. Vacancies will also be shared with 91传媒’s talent pool – students who have already expressed an interest in a vacancy and are seeking work.

Employers can also liaise with the Job Shop’s Employer Engagement Advisors to identify gaps in their recruitment and/or workforce. Working together, learning opportunities will be identified from the College’s course offer, thereby addressing and helping to close any skills gaps.
